The gods look down on the world they have created, assessing the beings that have since populated the world and built a mighty civilization. It has been ages since the gods departed this world, and the golden age of the gods and their time, and have since been forgotten, and largely relegated into myth. Nobody worships the gods anymore. The gods disapprove of what they see. The beings have no idea what is about to befall them, for the wrath of the gods is mighty.
